I feel fortunate and flattered (even honored!) that I will have a piece in Woodmere Art Museum’s 77th annual juried exhibition. The Woodmere Annual is one of those shows for which many, many Philadelphia artists regularly submit work to be considered. Along with the Fleisher Wind Challenge, collecting a rejection from the Woodmere Annual is almost like a rite of passage in this area. This was only my second time applying to Woodmere, so I was very happy to be included, especially given that I like and respect the work of so many of the artists that will also be in the exhibit.
Sphaera Oculus is the Misbegotten Sea Creature that will floating about the Woodmere, in search of plankton:
He’s 44×44 inches of graphite on paper, and he’ll soon be mounted to a panel.
June 2, noon to 4 is the open house reception for the show. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you there.
